Welten liegen sicherlich nicht zwischen "Svartir Sandar" und "Otta".

Bin mir nicht sicher ob ich mir die kaufen soll...die isländischen Vocals schrecken mich immer noch etwas ab. Mal sehn.

Nix gegen Postrock, und nix gegen SÓLSTAFIR, aber "Otta" fehlt es einfach etwas an Spannung. Hübsch ist es ja.

Doch, mir gefällt Otta. Allerdings weiß ich noch nicht, wie gut, weil das Album eher langsam wächst. Das war, wie gesagt, beim Vorgänger ganz anders. Ich hab "Fjara" gehört und mir war schon nach wenigen Takten klar, dass ich das Album haben muss. Und die Scheibe hat mich dann auch sofort gepackt und begeistert.

"Svartir Sandar" packt recht schnell zu, ja. Wächst dann aber schon noch ein wenig nach. "Otta" hat nichts Ungestümes. Vielleicht macht es das etwas schwerer, einzusteigen.

Der Streit bei SÓLSTAFIR geht weiter und nimmt bald QUEENSRŸCHE'sche Ausmaße an, obwohl Gummi bereits rausgeworfen wurde.

Sorry but I can't just sit silent. Those of you who consider your selves to be my real friends but still support the band operating under the name "Sólstafir" please know what you are supporting! Know that nothing has changed since this blog was written. I am still fighting for what is rightfully mine but the fight is not fair and squeare. Those of you who think that having a lawyer settle things is easy, quick and cheep, think again! This will most likely end up costing me thousands of euros/dollars while the other members don't have to bare any personal cost. Meanwhile the band has made me and me alone finencially responsible for debts they accumilated on tours I didn't even take part in (explained in the blog), trying that way to bankrupt me personally so I can't afford to "lawyer up". The merch and the concert tickes you buy streghtens them in their fight, as well as ensures them in their "right". That is not being neutral on your behalf, it is being passively suppotrive of them and their unrightfulness.
My friends in Iceland going to their "20th anniversary gig" tonight, please remember what I received on the band's real 20th anniversary in January, (being one of only two founding members) and that on my girlfriend's birthday!!
How about being neutral for real, and not supporting the band until all legal matters are solved? Or maybe you're just not real friends and don't really care?

Wait, what? So I am made out to be the one that had a drug problem? Drugs did indeed poison this band! There were two drug addicts in the band and the 3rd was drunk at every gig (screwing up a lot as a result, it's not hard googling videos to support that), I was none of those! I do (did) drink, but was never drunk on tour after the two sobered up and never ever played drunk in my whole career!
Also 20 years of mutual work (or not so mutual as certain members did nothing for the band for years, and are now at a point where they don't have to do anything) is NOT like being married, or at the very least a divorce entitles you to your share of things mutually earned! Taking it ALL for your self and literally telling the other party to "lawyer up" while trying to bankrupt said party is NOT the only solution, and very far from being the morally right one!
The reason why the band have met all my accusation with silence is because they are all true and can not be disproven. Their silence is only to protect themselves. Deleting fan's uncomfortable questions and blocking people on their FB page (including myself) only proves that.
Metal Hammer, I do understand that interviewing the band makes sense, but what about asking some real provocative questions, what about actually being music JOURNALISTS, not just throwing together an interview that could have come from a teenagers' fan page?

SOLSTAFIR ist jedenfalls bockstark in der heutigen Besetzung und wie Bösewichte kamen sie mir auch nicht vor. Geile Band!

Also, ähm, ich glaube nicht, dass das Hauptproblem an der ganzen Sache ist. Rausgeschmissen werden, Geld zahlen für Dinge, die man nicht gemacht hat, kein Geld bekommen für Dinge, die man gemacht hat, das, ja das könnte vielleicht ein Problem sein. Aber was weiß ich denn schon, der jammert ja nur, weil er nach 20 Jahren seiner Band beraubt wurde...
